Meet Me

Fernando Zuniga’s work arise as a result of playing. It’s through animals and pop characters that he exposes different human problematics such as truth, conscience, decadence and cruelty that surrounds us all. Within these topics, evolution is the one that stands out, which is represented by the dinosaur, which represents both the internal evolution of each human and the evolution of the species. Moving around the edges of the rational and the irrational, the known and the unknown.

A third element appears by the alchemy of the union of these opposites. In this process, the painting experience acquires more and more importance and the work arises as a consequence of it. The risk constitutes the central element that gives singular strength to the work. The obsessive use of coal in his work becomes a poetic act that evokes the gradual and total change that is generated in any object or living being under pressure, as happens with the mineral that in extreme conditions and high temperatures is transformed into a diamond.

SERIES

Killing charcoal

This unplanned abstract series explores creation's duality through risky, tactile charcoal application. Destruction informs new design, embracing uncertainty and the union of opposites.

The 11 Steps

Inspired by "The 11 Steps of Magic" methodology, this series uses Art to consciously manifest reality. Each piece embodies a creation step, positioning the Artist as Magician.

PINK SERIES

Inspired by rhino protection, this art series uses pink to symbolize neutrality and tackles child abuse, animal cruelty, and consumerism

NEW ROADS

This series merges rational/irrational, feminine/masculine, aiming to birth a higher third element by integrating opposites; an oxymoron.
